Dolphin Day- WDCS (Whale&Dolphin Conservation Society) with Ambassador Christof Wandratsch at the Hotel Kalura

The fisrt ever Dolphin Day was celebrated on 29th May at the Hotel Kalua in collaboration with Ambassador Christof Wandratsch and the owner of the Barakuda diving School, Wolfgang Törmer.

Sponsor of this initiative, which was intended to draw attention to the Year of the Dolphin, is the tour operator TUI. Approximately ten of the 25 participants were children. After some introductory remarks from Christof Wandratsch and some questions on dolphins to Wolfgang Törmer, the focus of activity shifted to the pool.

Here two tremendous rubber dolphins provided by TUI were waiting for the children to play on and dive from. The game lasted approximately one and a half hours and was enjoyed greatly by all, old and young alike. The opportunity was taken to collect donations in support of initiatives to protect endangered dolphin species. Special thanks go to the patron of the Year of the Dolphin, Prince Albert II of Monaco, to TUI, to Wolfgang Törmer of the diving school to Christof Wandratsch for their active support and of course to all participants. We are looking forward to the next Dolphin Day here at the Hotel Kalura.
