Dolphins in Art

From the age of 8, Jean Lamy has been attracted to art and developed a particular talent to paint. In 1987 he started studying calligraphy and typography in Toulouse, and later graphic design in various studios in Paris. He completed training in textile design before embracing naturalistic painting in 1994. Through his early experience in diving he discovered an underwater world of extraordinary liveliness and color. It became the basis of his art and he produced hundreds of photographs and sketches.

His passion for the sea and its depths — which are now endangered — is apparent in each of his original paintings. The diversity of his techniques: oil on wood, wax crayons, and oil on silk paper is as manifold as the variety of his themes. His pictures show cityscapes, the sea and rivers with its fauna. Wind, water, movement, and light are the connecting threads that run through all his work.
